Absolute Blow Out Day for COVID VACCINE STOCKS! On a day the Dow dropped almost 400 points, the COVID 25 rocketed north. Four of these stocks were in the top 20 Barron's stocks and nine in the top 100 which ties the record.
I actually thought the market had given up on these stocks and decided that electric car batteries were the new "in" thing.
Novavax got included in the Warp Speed program and received a government commitment of $1.6 Billion for vaccine delivery. But exploding up by almost one third made it only the second best stock on this remarkable day. Vaxart shrugged off yesterday's downdraught and rocketed up almost 38%.
In just one month, Novavax has gone from a company with a $2.6 Billion market value (7th) to the fourth most valuable COVID VACCINE STOCK worth over $6 Billion.
VBI Vaccines was up over 21%, while Altimmune, iBio, Biondvax all had gains of over 10%. In total, 20 of the COVID VACCINE STOCKS were up and only five down. Only tiny GOVX was down more than 1.15%. These stocks were up ON AVERAGE up 7.3% just today. As a little incursion into fantasy world, if you had a $100 investment that went up 7.3% every trading day all year, you would have a tidy $150 Billion (if I figured out how the FV function works in Excel).
