Vaxart gains 17% on flat day


Covid stocks ended the week with a completely flat day - mostly thanks to Vaxart's out-sized 17% gain. There were 17 stocks that lost ground and nine that gained ground. 

BioNTech continued its amazing run, gaining another 5%. The biggest loser on the day was Dynavax, losing just under 5%.

Stocks fall 1% on average. Vaxart gained 9% and GeoVax up 7%


COVID VACCINE STOCKS sagged by 1% on average. Fully 18 lost ground with 8 winning and one flat. 

The biggest gainer for the day was Vaxart, up 9% with GeoVax up a strong 7%. 

Immunity Bio fell 7%, Gritstone fell 5.5% and PDS fell 5%.

Slight move up with PDS, iBio,, TBIO and Tonix leading the way. CureVac falls



A modest gain overall with an upward move of 0.5%. There were 17 gainers and 10 losers. 

The top stock today was PDS with a gain of just under 8%. Translate Bio and iBio picked up 6% while Tonix gained just under 5%.

The biggest loser on the day was CureVac falling 7% while Novavax fell 5%.

Vaxart on fire - up 37%. Novavax up 16%.


Another nice move up with an overall average gain of 2.3%. However, outsized gains by Vaxart (up 37%) and Novavax (up 16%) distorted the gains. There were 14 stocks gaining ground with 13 falling. CureVac was up 5.5% while VBI and Sorrento continued recent strength with gains of around 5%.

Stocks pick up 4.4% on average on strong start to the week. Sorrento a double digit gainer.


Real strong bounce for COVID VACCINE STOCKS. All stocks grained ground except Generex. The overall average gain was a very good 4.4%. 

Sorrento was the strongest stock, putting in a double digit gain at 10.7%

Vaxart was next with a 9% gain, while Altimmune picked up 8%.

Novavax gained another 7% while Arcturus reversed recent selling with a gain of just under 7%. 

VBI and Tonix registered 6% gains, while Onco Sec, Gritstone and Alnylam picked up around 5%.

Emergent's bad week moves it down to 7th worst performer



Emergent Bio's awful week drops it down to 7th worst overall from 9th. Very little movement in the other nine BOTTOM TEN stocks.

BioNTech jumps to third. BIG THREE DOMINATING - Total return stays at 178%


Novavax had another terrible week, with its return falling a full 123% down to 1198%. It is still #1 by a mile. However, the other two big boys (Moderna and this week particularly, BioNTech) are establishing themselves as the go-to COVID VACCINE STOCKS. BioNTech roared up to third overall with an average return gain of 61%. 

The average returns of all 27 stocks remained static with a return of 178%. This masks some serious moves within the group.

For example, Arcturus had a poor week, with its return falling 30% down to 161%. It fell out of the TOP TEN to be replaced by Heat Biologics which had its return gained another 11% up to 197%.

Inovio falls 25% on federal funding stop


Federal funding for Inovio phase III is canceled and the stock loses one quarter of its value. This caused a sour ending to not a bad week, with the overall average a drop of 0.8% with 14 up and 13 down on the day. 

Arcturus also capped off another losing week, falling 7%. 

The top performer on the day was PDS which climbed just under 6% while Onco Sec climbed 5%.

Translate Bio jumps 8% on a day COVID VACCINE stocks went up 1%.


Twenty stocks made gains and there was a 1% gain overall. 

Translate Bio had the best day, gaining 8%. IBio, yesterday's big winner gave back 5% today to lead on the the downside. No other stocks lost or gained more than 5%.

Huge Up Day - Average is up 5.3% - IBio up 12% and Vaxart up 10%


Total Blow up day for COVID VACCINE STOCKS. The average return got up to 5.3% for one of the best days of 2021 for these stocks. Recent weakness was put in the rear view mirror at least for today.

iBio managed a double-digit gains after consecutive losses. It climbed over 12%. The other company to get a double-digit gain was Vaxart which climbed 10%. 

Generex, Gritstone, Immunity Bio, Moderna and VBI all managed gains in the 8% to 9% range.

PDS Bio, Inovio, NanoViricides, Onco Sec, Heat Biologics and Adaptive all managed gains in the 6% to 7% range. 

The only loser on the day was Vir which fell 1%.

More wholesale losses - Dynavax wrecked - down 18%.


Another punishing day featuring a 2% loss overall. Dynavax crushed with its worst loss of all time - down 18%. Tonix gave up a big chunk of yesterday's gains with a 7% loss. PDS and Onco Sec has suffered notable losses of around 5%.

BioNTech remains an absolute beast, bucking all negative trends, gaining another 4.5%. It now trades up at $156 after lingering around $100 for months.

Tonix bucks trend on sharply down day - 2.1% drop in overall returns




Gravity setting in again. Twenty stocks fall with six gaining ground. The overall average loss was 2.1% for a moderately strong down day. 

Tonix bucked the trend with a strong 10% gain. There wasn't much good news elsewhere.

Emergent hit another strong downdraft as a result of its problems with the Baltimore manufacturing site. It fell a full 12.5%.

Other companies that got hit hard today: Arcturus: down 8.5%, GeoVax and Generex, down 6%. Moderna and Vaxart, down 5%.

BOTTOM TEN - sagging. Vir moves up some spots as its less weak than Gritstone and Tonix. No changes to composition. 

While overall average return climbed significantly - most of that was due to the strength of the BIG THREE not these also rans.

Novavax up 12%, BioNTech and Moderna very strong on overall flat day


Novavax explodes up 12.5% for its best day in months. The companies with vaccines in production really did well:  Moderna up another 7% and BioNTech up 8%. CureVac was the only name to gain over 5%.

These big stalwarts distorted results as only 12 stocks had gains with 15 losing ground. The overall average was a gain of 0.2%.

VBI and Tonix both lost another 6% as they continue to fall behind peers. IBio and NanoViricides also fell another 5%.

Flat day with lots of movement. Dynavax, BioNTech and Translate Bio strong


Overall result was pretty much flat with a gain of 0.1% with 13 falling, 12 gaining and two flat. 

The biggest mover was Dynavax, climbing 7%. BioNTech continues its tear, gaining another 6% today. Translate Bio also gained 6%.

The biggest loser on the day was iBio, falling 7%, thus completely missing this week's positive up move for these stocks. Nano Viricides, Immunity Bio and Tonix all fell 5%.

Geo Vax loses 16% but 18 stocks gained ground for an overall average gain of 1.1%



COVID VACCINE STOCKS put together a second positive day, registering a 1.1% gain on average overall.

There were 18 stocks gaining ground with 8 losing ground. Tonix was flat.

Immunity Bio lead the way with an 8% with Moderna, CureVac, Translate Bio and Sorrento each gained 7%. 

On the other hand, Geo Vax took a 16% hit and iBio fell 5%.

Powerful up move of 3.5% GeoVax up 15% - Big 3 very strong


COVID VACCINE STOCKS react to the JNJ vaccine pause news with a strong rally - climbing 3.5% on average. Fully 19 of the stocks managed gains after several weeks of weakness.

The biggest gainers were the established covid vaccine makers:  #1 Novavax gained 11%, while #2 Moderna gained over 7% with BioNTech gaining just under 7%. 

The strongest gain was in GeoVax which climbed 15%. 

Several smaller secondary companies also had very strong days: Adaptive (up 8%), Arcturus and iBio, up 7%, Inovio, Vaxart, PDS Bio and NanoViricides all gained 6%. 

Emergent Bio continued its recent weakness, falling another 4%.

All Ten of BOTTOM TEN lose ground - ALNY return falls 28%




 

Sell-off to start week - overall average down 3.1%


Sell off resumes in COVID VACCINE STOCKS. 24 Stocks drop with only two winners today. Stocks fell 3.1% on average for a moderately strong sell-off.

OncoSec fell over 10% to lead on the downside. PDS Bio, Tonix and Sorrento all fell around 8%. Heat Biologics and Nano Viricides fell almost 7%. iBio fell over 6% and Inovio fell 5.5%. Immunity Bio continued it's recent troubles, falling another almost 5%.

GeoVax was one of the two winners, gaining almost 8% while Cure Vac gained almost 5%.

Moderna consolidates hold on 2nd overall. Stocks drift lower overall - down from 169% to 160%



COVID VACCINE STOCKS go from 169% down to 160%. The strongest stock of the week was PDS Bio which gained 71% on its overall return. It jumped up from 4th to 3rd best performer.

Moderna continues to show solid strength, consolidating its 2nd place with a gain in return overall of 32% this week. Immunity Bio was the hardest hit, with its return dropping 114% and falling from 3rd to 6th. Both Altimmune and Sorrento lost over 20% in overall return.  

Novavax is still #1 by a long way, but this week, its return stumbled 38%.

Flat day - OncoSec leads on the upside with a 5% gain.


Upside ekes out tiny gain - just 0.2%. The bigger market value COVID VACCINE STOCKS tended to come out on top, while the smaller ones tended to lose money today. 

There was 14 that lost ground with 12 gaining ground and one flat.

Stocks traded in an uncharacteristically narrow range with only OncoSec climbing just over 5% for the day. Gritstone also gained nearly 4.5%. 

The biggest losers on the day was Altimmune and IMV which fell around 3.5%.

PDS Bio gains 13% on another moderately, broad-based down day.


COVID VACCINE STOCKS end down after an up and down day. Twenty stocks fell today with 6 gaining ground and one flat. Losses on average amounted another 1.5% on average.

PDS had another strong day, bucking the trend, climbing another 13% and GeoVax was also strong, climbing 6%. 

Gritstone suffered a 9% loss, while IMV fell 7%.

PDS Bio leads - up 7.5% while Immunity Bio gives up 13% - overall average was down 1.5%


Fairly positive-looking day turns south in the afternoon. The overall average was a loss of 1.5% with 19 stocks falling and eight gaining ground.

PDS Bio lead to the upside with a strong 7.5% gain. All three large vaccine producers, Moderna, Novavax and BioNTech all had gains.

Immunity Bio had the steepest loss, falling over 13%. Arcturus gave back 6%, while Sorrento and Altimmune fell 5%.

Calm Day to start week - OncoSec up 5%


Relatively calm day in the COVID VACCINE STOCK world with no stock gaining or losing more than 5% which is rare. 

There were 16 on the losing end and 10 on the winning side with one flat.

Novavax fell just over 4.5% to lead on the downside. GeoVax also fell more than 4%. To the upside, OncoSec gained just under 5% and Arcturus picked up 4%.

Emergent tumbles back into BOTTOM TEN



Emergent Bio Solutions drops back into Bottom Ten after rough week - its overall return falling 26% down to 45%. Otherwise, no double digit movers on relatively flat week overall.

BioNTech jumps back into TOP TEN with huge week - 169% overall return (up 1%)



 

Average overall return for all 27 stocks was a gain of 1% from 168% to 169%. There was some significant movement among individuals names.

BioNTech had a very strong week with an overall average return up 51% to 224%. It allowed the stock to jump well back into the TOP TEN from 11th to 8th. 

The king, Novavax, got back into the win column with a gain of 23% up to 1061%.

Moderna has moved back up to second overall as it drifted back 3% while Immunity Bio's total return fell by 90% down to 363%. 

PDS also jumped up three spots to fourth overall with an overall return of 289%, up 41% from last week. Sorrento drifted down from fourth to sixth overall.

Flat Day to end week. Emergent Bio smoked through human error - down 13%


A relatively flat day to end the Easter-shortened week. The overall average gained 0.1% with 16 stocks gaining ground and 11 falling.

The biggest mover was Emergent Bio, which was hit with claims human error at the company caused a significant number of vaccines to be ruined as part of the manufacturing process. Its stock took a 13% hit, briefly dropping below the $80 mark. 

Gritstone was the strongest stock to the upside gaining 8% while Onco Sec was also strong, climbing 6.5%. IBio was strong as well, up just under 6%.
